Default Riding season in NY

Does NY state have a riding season. I seem to recall hearing that in NY you can only ride from April tru October. Is that right?

If you are asking about a law restricting the time of year you can ride, there's no such thing. Practical matters -- weather -- do restrict the season to (generally) April 1st thru October 31st, depending on your tolerance for cold. I generally ride March thru November. Last year, it was 55 degrees on Christmas day, and I saw a lot of bikes out that day.

And those were the smart one's who didn't winterize their bikes too. Screw the winterizing and just let the bike idle for 20-30min every weekend cause with the freaky weather of the past few years you don't want to miss out a great fall/winter day to ride!

Nexus nailed it, keep the battery tender on the bike, ride it around the block every other week, heck you'll be riding the week of Christmas.

But not the week of St. Patrick's day, because it will be colder then. Don't claim to understand it.

My wife and I got "insulated rain suits" from First Gear (can't remember who we bought them through). Basically, they are light-weight snowmobile suits with extra water proofing & a heat shield on the legs. I've ridden in it comfortably at 20 degrees

Ah yes, snowmobile suits. Ideal for motorcyling. The boots are a bit clumsy, though.

The biking season in Wisconsin? Random in the winter months, slightly better in the summer months.

I put over 1000 miles from Nov. to March of this year. Buy some winter gear.

There is no riding season in NY. You just dress for the temperature you're riding in.
