| my center stand? I just bought the bike a few months ago and just realized it doesn't have a center stand. Any suggestions on how to tighten the chain without a center stand?

Have you not lubed the chain yet? You will have a similar problem with that. What you probably want is a "wheel jack" that lifts the back wheel. I need one too but, so far, been too stuborn (or stupid) to get it.

| Jett , it is possible to adjust your chain without a center stand or rear stand . I did it a few times before purchasing my rear stand .

| How do you get the bike up on a rear stand? Does it require two people? I found something called a " Tommy Jack" that looks like it will do the job for $60. Which would be better a jack or stand?

| For a rear stand , U will need to get spools. These thread into the rear of your swingarm .....look at yours ....there should be a spot to screw these spools into. Then the stand will pick up the bike when U push down on the stands handle . Only requires 1 person for the stand . I know almost nothing about the "jack" , so I can't help U there. Let me see if I can find some pics ..............

| Muscle Biker ![]() | There is the "poor mans" method. Have someone about your size sit on the bike and hold it straight. Then measure the tension of the chain and adjust accordingly.

| Actaully unless specified, bikes today have to have the chain adjusted with the rear wheel on the ground or simulated on the ground with a rear stand.
