If you remember I had a Honda 750 Shadow ACE that I was going to trade in for a sportier bike. At the time I was leaning towards a 750 Katana however a year later I finally got my wife to agree to a new bike and I came home with a 600 CBR F4i. I am loving it and have a healthy respect for it power. Anyways I was just coming here to comment on Dallas riders. I see alot of these guys riding Harleys and other heavy cruisers on the weekends but most in North Dallas anyways don't wear their buckets going with fashion of the bandana. Mind you I have nothing against the weekend riders dressed to the nines in there freshly made leathers that all have to have the Harley logo imprented somewhere visible, but at least wear your bucket. Today the rule was reinforced for me. Dallas has the HOV (High Occupancy Lanes) on the highways that anyone with two or more people in a car or a motorcycle can use. It is always the inner most lane and as such is a debris collector. Riding to work today at about 75 I took a solid knock to the helmet by something big. It startled me for a bit but I just kept on to work. What freaked me out was what ever hit me I never saw it. When I finally got to work I took a look at my helmet I see a good bald spot about the size of a quarter on my left cheek area where it touches my visor (the visor got scuffed up as well). If that helmet wasnt there it most likely would have nailed me right in the left eye cheek area and who knows what would have happened then. Oh well safe travels to yall all. Poboy |
