Hey yall I had my first "lengthy" ride it was about 100 miles, I rode from my dads house to my papa's house. 50 miles both ways. It was some back roads to 19-41 then 36 then more back roads. I loved it my dad was in the truck behind us (me and my uncle) its was a fun 55-60 on back roads and 60-65 on 19-41 and 36. At first my turns were sketchy I couldnt decide where to hit my apex at but as we progressed onto back roads after 19-41 I began to get more comportable and on the ride back I was doin excellent. I had one lady (blue hair) slam on brakes infront of us. We changed lanes (19-41 is two laned) and I followed my uncle who has been ridin for about 25 years now. Then on the way back we had an old man (yet another blue hair) turn onto a open area that was gravel on our right side from on comin traffic. He decides to procede onto the gravel with extreme caution (nice 5 MPH) WHILE HE IS IN OUR LANE. That was on a 2 lane road. AHH that raddled me a little bit but I merged to the right side of grease line and throttled through. Other than that nothin else bad happened....well.......I was goin down a nice curve back road that I had road on my dirtbike (yeah dirtbike asphalt dont mix) but I knew where the apexs where what was arond each turn how the road looked and all. I hit every apex and trottled out and it was an uphill left then a cut back right. Well when I came out of the cut-back there was Locust Groves Finest straight ahead. I seen him slow down and get turn in a subdivision I thought he was goin to let me pass and get me dont know for what since he couldnt hae got me on radar or laser so.......prolly reckless, even though I stayed in my lane and wasnt doin much over speed limit. Yeah it was fun cant wait till the end of july hopefully a bike me and my dad have lined up will eventually come through.

Follow the 2 second or more rules and you'll be fine in these situations. Keep your speed safe and leave yourself plenty of room. Keep an eye on everything everywhere all the time hehe

Good for you !!! as long as you keep your head screwed on straight, you'll do fine. The more you ride on the road, the less physically tense you'll be. With your Dad ( and uncle ) to keep you on the right track you'll be OK.

I remember way back when..... Lot's different from dirt, Hah.

Yeah dirt turns are different, your only focused on whats infront of ya, and when you bite it you brush your self off and keep goin.

The hardest thing for me was braking the habit of sticking a foot out in turns.

It took a few times for Wuby too.

I had to tell him "When you run over your own foot because it's been snapped off by the asphalt, that's when you will stop putting that foot out".

He did very well Yesterday, I was very proud of him. I told him yesterday how well he did, but it never hurts to say it more than once.

GOOD JOB WUBY !!!
