| I've got a question for some of you riders that have been on the road a little bit longer. Do you encounter other riders on the road much and just ride with them? Or would that just be awkward for the both of you?

| I usually try to keep some distance, or pass if they are going less than the speed limit. Unless I'm invited I don't try to join a group or individual, it can be awkward. Neither one knowing the others intentions.

| I run into other bikers all the time, and follow some simple unspoken rules: If the bike I come up on stays in the middle of the lane, then I figure they don't want company. If they get in the right side of the lane, then it is an invitation to fall into formation behind them, and I join them. Same thing if I'm the lead bike: if I want company, I set up on one side of the lane so they can fall into formation if they want to join me. But I ride a cruiser, and I think cruiser guys are more likely to want to ride in a group, as it is less competitive, we tend to drive a bit slower, and there are less worries about the other rider's skills in curves. If a fst-moving bike comes up behind be, I head for the left side of the lane and let them pass me without having to cross into the other lane, and I appreciate it wen a slow-moving bike does the same for me.

| I'm not even real big on riding with people I do know. I treat other mc'ers as regular traffic, for the most part.
