| May 2007 Member of the month ![]() | Seems rideabikeaitus has struck once again. For Father's day my brother and I decided to take the 1984?? Honda CB650 my dad bought over to the mechanic that got my Bro's '81 GS65G running again. Early Father's Day present since he will not be here on the 17th. So my Dad took the bike down the street a couple times the other day and he came up to my Brother and asked him what he needed to do to get his license. We handed him the Georgia Motorcycle Manual and I guess he will be getting his learner's permit. (He used to ride but gave it up 28 years ago) One word of caution,,,when dropping off a bike that has not ran since 1992 to a mechanic and you tell him to get it running,, clarify to call with a quote first. $969.00 later it is going again. Thanks to my brother for flipping the bill on this years gift!!!!! So hopefully I can convince him like I did "J" and my brother to take the MSF course if and get a helmet that is not 28 years old. I guess I will go get him fitted for a helmet. But if I know my dad he will end up buying one in a yard sale.

I hear the real reason your not making the Dragon ride this year is because your worried that one of us old guys might steal Rae away from you.

| May 2007 Member of the month ![]() | Well Pops is studying the Georgia Motorcycle Manual while he is out of town. SO when he gets back he can take his learners permit and then go get his drivers permit. Seriously doubt he will go to a MSF course so we will be doing our own version of the course for him. Rainman and MisfitsGeek have come up with an idea for our club that is called MRE (Misfits Rider Education). This is basically once a month we will get together and anyone who wants to attend can come out and play. We will go to an abandoned parking lot and setup cone maneuvers and practice low speed maneuvers. This will hopefully help hone up our riding skills and we all know better stability equals better riding. Another idea we are tossing around is if any Misfit goes and takes the MSF or MSF advanced course the club will refund them $25.00 of the $30.00 yearly dues. I think this is an excellent idea and hopefully will make us all even better riders.

| Fifth gear streak ![]() | sounds like a cool thing with your dad riding again. also a great idea with the misfits. thats why i like riding with you all so much. you always balance in the right amount of safety. often times it is either ignored or over preached.
