Default need some advice!!

Hey everyone...
I had a question for ya'll. I have never riden motorcycles...ive ridden dirt bikes and all that good stuff, but i am really interested in getting a GSXR600. but i wasnt sure if this was the best decision for my first bike. since i am a pretty small girl and thats a pretty big bike to handle. if you guys have any suggestions that would be great. thanks!!!
much love,
nikki

It's not a good first street bike for more reasons than it's size.

Try looking at the Ninja 250/500 or GS500 maybe even a Katana 600 (but it's a pig compared to the others)

Whatever you do, take the MSF course and buy a used bike....it won't hurt as bad when you drop it.

Be careful and wear your gear.

I agree with RookWV. A New Ninja 250 is only $3000 where I live. Usually you can get them to throw in a new helmet too. The GSX-R600 could be a bit intimidating for a first time rider. Either the Ninja 500 or (Suzuki) GS500 would also be a great bike and give you that sporty look. Go sit on a few new ones at your local dealer then find a used one through your local paper. Good luck.

Ooh, ooh, she's spreading love! Gather around, guys!

Welcome, and kudos for doing your homework before buying. It might save your life (or at least your skin). Don't forget, buy the gear before the bike. That way you can't say you can't afford it.

Gear or bike ... chicken or egg ...

I bought my gear in all black, but my helmet was a red/black mix (since I was on a bordeau-red Vespa at the time). Then I bought a silver bike ... and was unhappy because the helmet didn't match anything else.

While I was shopping for my new bike, I was also shopping for a new helmet. When I finally decided to buy the GSX 1400 in blue, I then bought a Shoei helmet with a design that matched the color of the bike.

To summarise: I would budget for the bike and gear, but not buy one without the other (if you are concerned about the colors matching). I would get the gear as neutral as possible (black), and just color-coordinate the hemet and bike.

That said ... I've recently been looking around for a leather jacket with protectors in blue/black ... since I plan to keep this bike for a while!

Just my 0.02 EUR worth...
