Default Serendipity

I started riding again this year after a long lay-off, and due to financial conditions had resigned myself to riding my '79 Suzuki for several years to come. Then my friend pipes up that he want to get a bike, an '05 Mean Streak. One of our customers has one for sale, so, he asked me to go along. They have not one, but two bikes for sale. The other being a 2001 V Star 1100 with 4500 miles. The seller also has a fleet of "project cars" that he needs fixed up. I am now going to spend a few days a month restoring old cars to health, in exchange for a nice, shiny V-Star.

My wife and I took the Star up to the hills today for a short blast. What an awesome ride. It pulls hills with nary a down-shift. I no longer have to paddle the gear shift like a kayaker. 100 miles in, and my wife is talking about riding it to St. Louis this summer. She has never before expressed any interest in a long ride

Oh, my friend? He decided that when his wife said do whatever the #$%T you want, did not actually mean "yes"
