Hi guys! Yes. I know it has been a long time since I have been here. I have no excuses. I began a new job in March, and I am now working weekends too if that helps And I am also sorry that it takes an accident to bring me back here. But that is what happened to me two weeks ago... Was on my way to work on the 24th of April - rounded the corner onto the main road to take me to work. Second, third, fourth gear, about 65 km/h, was approaching a green light when a lady in her car decided to turn right from the oncoming lane - towards me, across my path. And instead of keeping on going - flooring the car so as to avoid the accident, she stopped in my way. I had no time to do anything, other than slam on the brakes and wait for the impact. I had a fracture of the zygoma arch (cheekbone / eye socket), and two fractured toes. And my head feels like someone is doing this to it constantly. I had to wait for about 10 days for the operation, but it has now finally taken place, and I came home this past Sunday. The doctor basically had to open my cheek from the top and inside the gumline and push my cheekbone back into place. The fracture came from my head hitting the side of her car. As said - the bike is finished. The tank is crushed from my thighs, and the forks are now vertical. I haven't seen it since the accident though - it was taken to my father in laws office. Any way, as my wife would say - I am moaning too much! We did get new garden furniture; Rhodesian Teak set, cost about R7500.00! Very nice set though - we are just waiting for the cushions. So... How are all of you? I have attached a pic of me for those who want a look. And a pic of the furniture. Ta Dwayne |
