Hi all, I have a 1969 Suzuki TS250 in great condition. It is missing the wiring harness (just has one wire coming from the engine for ignition), the lights, the speedo and mirror. Otherwise it is all stock. I am trying to decide what to do with it. I feel like it is neither here nor there in its current state. I either want to buy the proper parts to put it back to stock, or build it just like the racer in a 1969 motorcycle magazine article which I have but it is currently missing... Basically, they shaved all the unneccessary hardware off the frame, upgraded the forks and shocks and bored out the engine to 322cc. Obviously they removed the lights. They did a fabulous job with the paint scheme too. Anyway, money is not really an issue because I can take all the time in the world on this project (so if it costs me ten grand spread out over five decades, it is not that bad, right?). And need is not an issue because I already have both dual purpose bikes and MX'ers... So it is a matter of taste. I like the idea of having a perfectly stock first year TS250, but I equally like having one built with period mods. What do you all think? |
