| Bought a new V Star 1300 Tourer. The wife and I love the bike. Looks and handles like a dream. The shock was when I got the maintenance schedule for the bike. For the 1st K and every 4K after that, valve adjust, throttle body sync, etc.. Dealer wants me to drop it off (for the better part of a week) and says it will cost $280. The mechanic said that the valve adjust could be done every 8K which lowers the cost to $200. Way too expensive, and since I don't have a bike trailer, a major hassle for my wife and I to drop off and pick up. Just wondering every one elses take is on this. Not particularly mechanical, so I can't do this myself. Personally I think Yamaha has put out a great bike but followed up with a maintenance nightmare. Jerry |

| I was disappointed to read the maintenance schedule for the V star 1300 as well. I thought it would be my next bike but am put off by having to get the valves adjusted every 4000 miles. The Road Star or a Harley is starting to look real good now.
