Default Finished my MSF training and had to brag

I just finished my MSF course. I liked it.. some things I did not but fo rthe most part it was great. Gave more confidence for riding and learneda few things to boot. However I just had to brag that of all the 24 students that was inmy class I was the only one to ace both the riding and the written portion of the test.. What can I say i am genious.. LOL

I just had to brag though...

OH and I would recommend taking the class to any noob and most experienced riders to boot...

What did you dislike? Perhaps those things need practice?

bah... its not tough to ace the course. /me aced course as well on both accounts. However, even though I aced the riding part. I still knew there were parts of it that I should practice further to really feel like I "Aced" them.

I remember being annoyed that I did the emergency stop after accelerating into high in 2nd, while others did it by barely getting into 2nd gear, and they passed as well. All the instructors wanted to see was "reasonable" speed and that you got the gears down to first and stopped in a required distance.

Personally, I was rather scared for the 2 older women (no offense ladies, nothing about sexism here, they were just scary) who passed. Neither could balance the bike all that well. They stalled it all the time. They spent most of their time looking down and wobbled quite a bit on most turns. I was really concerned for their safety.

You aced the course, but I bet you know what you could have done a lot better in....

I was a shaky newby when I took my license exam. A guy on a Harley tipped it over, and a kid on a sportbike locked the front and went down. I had practiced, so I did fine. The examiner docked me points for not moving over to the right enough while making a turn at an intersection. I think he just didn't want me to get a big head about passing everything else. I've read that it's better to defend your lane against greedy cagers anyway.

Well i understand that I need to learn more and this was a baisc course after all.. But I did take the bike to the limit when i could ... Most of the ladies were minimum speed I was max for the braking tests.. the curves and all that... There was not anythign of the riding skills portion that I did not like. What I disliked was being ain a group with 3 slow ladies in it that two dropped their bikes and one had a 6 foot front tire skid that almost threw her off.. Iin some exercises I was unable to get to spped because the person in front of me was going at a snails pae. The part that would have been better would have been for them to split our small group up again and have people of like abilities together. This would have allowed those with a smaller learning curve to get more out of the class...

That is about it... Now it is to time to practice pratice practice on my bike.. : ) well when I get one.. LOL

its not hard to pass those courses I found out. I aced mine as well and only missed one point for going too slow on 135 degree turn. I laughed at instructors and said "what do you expect when you give me a Nighthawk to ride when I am used to an SV"

seriously though... there were about 4 women over 40 in my class and one had never even driven a clutch operated anything before. She ended up dropping a Rebel once and scared the crap out of me a few times as I thought she was going to hit me. The other ladies didn't do too bad but still were shakey at best. I was surprised that everyone passed but the lady who dropped the Rebel (was on practice but she missed too many points). But they did tell a couple of the ladies and one guy that they were not ready for the road yet even though they passed.

I was having fun slingshotting everyone so I could get a little speed on the slalom sections
