Sheesh. Is spam your only concern?

I was out giving two newbies some instruction last night. One, a woman, just bought a used Bandit 650 (in super condition). She was supposed to take her first riding lesson last Saturday, and had to cancel it because the battery of the Bandit died. She picked up a new battery on Tuesday, and came out for the maneuver practice last night. She did great!

This morning, she found that her bike was gone. She is, quite understandably, EXTREMELY PISSED OFF. The bike was parked in the lobby of her building, behind a locked door. The thieves apparently picked the lock on the door (no signs of forced entry) and lifted the bike onto a truck or van.

The law was changed 4 years ago ... if you are under 25 years old, you must start out with a bike that has less than 25kW / 34hp for 2 years. After 2 years, you can re-test for an unrestricted license. If you are over 25, you can go directly for the unrestricted license. Franziska is 39, and has years of experience riding a 125 scooter - she was finally stepping up to a motorcycle.

Now on the other side of it. That sucks pretty bad. Was she insured?

Yes. She is insured, and is now starting the process to get the bike replaced (she wanted a Speed Triple anyway, so this may be her chance!)

She reconstructed the situation together with her neighbor, and they figure that the thieves had a window of about 40 minutes to pull off the job, so it was definitely a professional job.

Hold a gun to my head Clint, and make me beg for my life. I'm sure I'd find a way to change the subject. Matter of fact, I know it to be true!
