Greg yes we care, things are happening behind the scenes right now and when it all settles down hopefully we will be able to have a better handle on this.

OK, I did say it "seemed" like one appeared each time spam was mentioned.

That was freakin' hilarious! You're our new spam-magnet, Greg. Just scrape it off your leg into a handle-tie bag once a day.

Wow, that's a riot!
Greg, you're a little sensitive today. What's up?

It is Thursday, you know.

May be time for the "Bunghole repair kit"

Nobody tell him about the "spam me" sign someone taped to his back .

Actually, although I detest spam, I don't know the extent of current efforts to curtail it, nor am I an IT person, therefore I can't make positive suggestions to the mods. I just assume they are working on it and do the next best thing, sarcastic remarks.

ya, maybe i got ticked off with finding a dozen spams last night, and the first reply to this thread was a spam!!!! freakin' irony. oh, that and our windows got broken last night, courtesy of a couple of rocks tossed by jackass kids (railway line at back of house evidently makes a good supply of rocks).

ya, as for efforts to reduce spam infestation, one thought i had was to block out any sort of new member signups, but being the (sad and slow) beginning of riding season, that may not be the wisest move.

Maybe they should just stop letting Canadians join.

Being that I'm a newer member (3 months) here myself, I wouldn't want them blocking out all new member sign-up. There are other ways to fight spam and there is a lot less of it here than on some other sites, the Mods seem to know what they are doing-just be sure and let them know when you spot some. imo-Ray

We won't do that. Our owner is committed to making some improvements soon. I think the change in signup will do the trick. We just have to make it happen. The administrators (Louis and me) don't have much access to the server, so we have to wait for the big man to take care of it.
