Default Proficient Motorcycling

Edit by Rowdy: This book is now on loan to members for the cost of return shipping. Please PM RowdyRed94 to get on the waiting list.

Does anybody have a copy of proficient motorcycling they would loan out? Id gladly pay shipping and get it back in a couple weeks.

I'm going to buy one and share it. You'd be responsible to ship it to the next party. I'll let you know when it comes.

Skynyrd fan gets it first. PM me to get on the list.

really, by the time you pay for shipping, you could own your copy and have it handy for those non -riding days when you wanted to refresh your memory

Furthermore, I admit that the book is a must read for riders, but the binding on it sucks.

The book is well-known for having pages falling out of it before you finish reading it the very first time.

I love the book, but take my word for it, Clint. The book won't survive more than 2 read-throughs without having more loose pages than bound pages.

I am in the process of putting mine in a 3-ring binder because of a suggestion I read online. Nearly all of the pages have fallen off of mine.

here are some reviews about the book and more than a few I read seem to be experiencing the same problem I am with the binding: Amazon.com: Reviews for Proficient Motorcycling: The Ultimate Guide to Riding Well: Books: David L. Hough

Mine didn't have that problem, and I'd hope it's been resolved. If nothing else, I'll punch it and bind it.

Each person will pay under $5 for shipping. It's at least $15 new. I think I'll go ahead with this. If it means one more person reads it, .

Shipping is cheap as long as you remember to ask for Media Mail. I think it's $2.07 for up to 2 lbs coast to coast.

don't your libraries have this book so that you can borrow it for free?

ya, like a bookstore, except you walk out without paying, and return stuff without having to say why. they're pretty good about it, too. it's almost as if they WANT you to steal the stuff.

You got one of the good copies.

Don't count on NOT having the problem though. It hasn't been fixed.
This issue has been going on with that book for a loooong time.

The punch and bind idea is your best bet.

Yeah, mine was an older version, too. The newer ones are bad, apparently.

that's unfortunate. up here (at least in this city), even though we have something like 15 branches, they do a lot of reserving on-line and can bring books from other locations to the one that's close to me, even from the outskirts and hamlets (reasonably spread-out area). guess that's ONE good thing our insane income taxes are good for!
