Default Question about final gear oil Intruder 800

Okay - sometimes I amaze myself when I overlook things like this.

I was getting ready to change my oil again at the 6500 miles interval, and was re-reading the manual. I looked at the column about Final Gear Oil and it indicated that I should have Replaced it at the 600 mile interval. Which I didn't. arrrrgghhhh!!

Of course I'm going to go ahead NOW and replace the final gear oil, and the manual says to use SAE90 hypoid gear oil rated GL-5. I'm going to look for that today, but I don't ever remember seeing something like that (perhaps I just wasn't looking).

It seems to handle just fine, but I've prolly done some type of damage that'll haunt me later.

Any ideas on what you guys typically choose for the final gear oil?

Don't worry about it too much, just change it. I doubt you did any real damage to it- those Intruder final drives are pretty robust, so as long as you don't run it dry you won't hurt it.
I use whatever SAE90 gear oil is on sale- Castrol, Lucas, store brand, whatever.

I have the same issue, I have not reached the first 600 mile change. I am considering Lucas or Castrol. I am going to check about effecting the warranty before I change it. Will check back soon.
