Default What do you do when you reach your destination?

Since I just got my new water proof pants I plan on riding to work and anywhere else I can from now until the end of the season. Since I just started riding last September I was wondering if anyone covers their bike when they get to work or any where else

If I am not riding my bike I have it under a cover at home but I was not sure if I should cover it when I am out, say at a movie and it is raining, or when I am at work regardless if it is rain or shine.

Thanks!

I never cover mine- you need to wait a good long time for the pipes to cool down anyways, and you should take it off as soon as the rain stops so the bike dries instead of rusting, so I never bother.

Besides, any biker will tell you there IS no destination- just temporary stops during the journey.

Ok, that was fast. As I was walking down to the kitchen talking to my wife i realized what DrBob just pointed out...have to wait to let it cool down. Yea, i am dumb.

My wife bought me a guardian cover that has the vent on it let breath and dry if it got wet to prevent rusting...at least that is what they said!

I only cover mine if I'm parking somewhere sketchy or I expect bad weather.

Good thing I covered mine, as it's raining pretty hard right now But that means my MSF class might be rained out tomorrow morning. Cross your fingers for dry roads!

My last track day was rained out, but the BRC was in full swing next door! Get out there!

My whole MSF class was done in the rain. Unless your instructors are whimps, they'll not cancel. Have fun.

Yeah, same with me. It was weird to, cause mine was over 3 weeks (sat and sun the first week, two sat's the next two weeks), perfectly sunny days all week EXCEPT the days when we actually rode.

At least it made the Florida summer a little more bearable.

The only time my bike is covered is during its winter hibernation. Otherwise it is ALWAYS ready for the next ride.

I plan on buying a lightweight cover and using it daily just to keep the bird#@$% off the bike.

Birds around here have good aim, either right on the hand grips or dead center on the seat.

Somewhere around, they have "half covers" enough to cover the handlebars and the seat. As a matter of fact, here it is.

Same with my MSF class, we did it rain or shine. Now that I think of it we actually did a part of it in the fog since we started at 6:30 in the freakin morning.

If my bike sat outside or in a leaky shed I would cover it, but being stored in the garage I don't bother. When I go out, if it gets wet then so be it. I don't think I would ever bother bringing a cover with me to use while going somewhere.
