| Newbie | Since I just got my new water proof pants I plan on riding to work and anywhere else I can from now until the end of the season. Since I just started riding last September I was wondering if anyone covers their bike when they get to work or any where else If I am not riding my bike I have it under a cover at home but I was not sure if I should cover it when I am out, say at a movie and it is raining, or when I am at work regardless if it is rain or shine. Thanks! Last edited by SeanGS500F; 03-23-2007 at 08:28 PM. Reason: Spell checking since I suck at spelling. |

| I never cover mine- you need to wait a good long time for the pipes to cool down anyways, and you should take it off as soon as the rain stops so the bike dries instead of rusting, so I never bother. Besides, any biker will tell you there IS no destination- just temporary stops during the journey.

| Newbie | Ok, that was fast. As I was walking down to the kitchen talking to my wife i realized what DrBob just pointed out...have to wait to let it cool down. Yea, i am dumb. My wife bought me a guardian cover that has the vent on it let breath and dry if it got wet to prevent rusting...at least that is what they said! |

| I only cover mine if I'm parking somewhere sketchy or I expect bad weather.

| My last track day was rained out, but the BRC was in full swing next door! Get out there!

| I plan on buying a lightweight cover and using it daily just to keep the bird#@$% off the bike. Birds around here have good aim, either right on the hand grips or dead center on the seat.

| Somewhere around, they have "half covers" enough to cover the handlebars and the seat. As a matter of fact, here it is. POLYESTER MOTORCYCLE HALF-COVER FOR GOLD WING : JC Whitney: Motorcycle Parts & Accessories |

| If my bike sat outside or in a leaky shed I would cover it, but being stored in the garage I don't bother. When I go out, if it gets wet then so be it. I don't think I would ever bother bringing a cover with me to use while going somewhere.
