Exclamation I'm new here...help! haha...

hey guys my names Johnathan I am new to this forum and i waould just like to say hi to all of you, and I love bikes... I am 18 years old and a college student... I have always loved bikes sincei was old enough to walk... but never got on one...now I think i'm ready...I wanna ride!!!! and ya...I am a TOTAL beginner and i still have to get my motorcycle indorsement but that shouldnt be a problem... ill just practice when i can get a bike...plus i have a friends dirt bike i might be able to borrow..to practice..but I am young so I think it is okay... I love BMW bikes as they are my favorite..they are beautifully designed machines... So I went to a bike shop today and I sat on some bikes... a Suzuki gz 250...and a BMW k 1200 R or something to that effect.. the BMW was hot...but my question to you which is a good beginner bike..the suzuki was probably better for a beginner but the BMW is way cooler..and better... I don't wanna spend all this money and not get what I want... For example I don't wanna but the Suzuki to learn then buy the bike i REALLY want the BMW unless i have to.. Is the BMW just too much bike for a beginner like me? I know it hauls *** ... I am about 5'8 and 170-180... and I was searching for some input from some more experienced riders...what would you reccomend? I am open to almost any suggestions so let them roll, and once again thank you very much
