Default 2 small(dumb) questions

OK I am just planning ahead for our summer vacation, we are riding from Toronto to Cape Breton(cabot trail) going through upstate New York & New England area. So now my dumb questions, when crossing the border do they allow you to go though together or do you just have to wait on the other side for your mate? Also same for any tolls do you both have to pay?

It's just like a toll booth. You're each "interviewed" seperately. You might be able to pull up next to him, but you'll wait until each other is checked.

Of course, my account is from the perspective of an American. Not sure how it'll be different for you. We have plenty of Canada's finest to fill in.

Of the dozen or so times I've crossed between Canada and the US (always by cage), not once have I ever seen a motorcyclist being hassled. You might want to wait for some other responses of first-hand experiences though!

One at a time, at the border, and the booth.

The only problem I had at the border, was when he asked if I had any weapons on me. With out thinking, I said yes, and at the same time pulled the knife out of my pocket. He yelled stop, but it was to late, I already had it out. I froze, and just looked at him, and he said, in a very serious voice "do not open that, or I will arrest you" Everything got real quiet, than he quietly said to put that thing away. I got through allright, but he wound up asking me about 100 questions, and only asked my riding partner (on her own bike) about 5.

Make sure to take the 190 south after the bridge. It keeps you out of the REAL traffic nightmares around Buffalo.

We will be leaving july 15th after going to port dover for fri 13th, so we will miss Atlanticade. So we can try for the 2nd annual event.

Trap: you can show us around Moncton

Az: We are going a less traveled border in Kingston/Wolf Island ferry. Should be a nice ride

Yes it works... It is an optical illusion. It looks uphill, but in reality it is downhill. It would even work on a bicycle. The little creek beside the road even flows "uphill". It's about ten minutes from my house.
