Ignoring the positives/negatives to motorcycles vs sedans and our preference for one over the other, what is the reason for the pricing? Sedans such as Civics, Toyotas, Chevy Cobalts, and the Ford Focus can all be purchased new for around $15k +/-. While motorcycles such as the Harley Dyna Low-Rider, Kawasaki Vulcan 2k, or a Yamaha Roadliner or Stratoliner would all run you around the same price. What generates/justifies paying a similar cost on a motorcycle considering there are far fewer parts on a motorcycle than on any of those sedans? Granted, any of those motorcycles I've mentioned are MUCH more fun to ride than a 4cyl sedan, but c'mon! I could have also compared the long list of trucks available for the same $15k price tag, and trucks are very useful! |
