I was at a Suzuki dealership last week, and sat on almost every bike they had in the store. I was curious about a specific bike, and asked the salesman about a possible test drive on that bike, and he indicated that "insurance restriction" prevented them from letting people test drive the bikes. I was at a HD dealership about 2 months ago, and they didn't seem to mind the idea of my testing a VROD. So I was just curious. Does this vary by dealership? Salesman? or just the way I look Personally, if I plan to buy a new bike, or even a used one, I'd like to at least watch someone else ride it up and down the street. I know I'd want to listen to it and at least sit on it when running. I bought my current bike and did not have my license at that time, so I just sat on the bike and then watched them ride the bike. I guess I got lucky in that there are numerous other factors to consider for the bike of choice. So - do you demand a test drive before purchasing? or what? |
