Default V4 Engined Bikes....

Having ridden a V-twin engined bike for over 11 months and an I-4 engine one for about 8 months, I would like to pose a question:

Why in the hell don't the manufacturers make more V-4 sportbikes ?

I mean I enjoy the smoothness of I-4 power delivery, but the frigging tank's just too goddamn wide. When I ride my gixxer, I just have to spread my legs further apart than I have to when I ride my SV. I'd think this is because the transverse I-4 engine is just wider than the V-twin engine.

In contrast, the tanks on my friend's Duc 749s and 999s are just too narrow.

For me, the width of the SV is just perfect, which I'd imaging is about the same width of a V-4 sportbike tank (like those of the motogp bikes).

So again, why don't the manufacturers make more V-4 sportbikes ?

So far, the only production V-4's I know are the Honda VFR and Duc Desmosedici.
