Default Looking at a SV650s

Hey guys. I am starting to look around for another bike and was considering the SV650s. My question is with it listed as a "sport touring" is it more of a sport bike than a touring or more of a touring then a sport bike??? And are their any removable hard bags available for longer trips?

I plan on hitting the dealerships this weekend to start looking and sitting on bikes. Then buy after getting through the expense of Christmas, unless I come across one heck of a deal somewhere.

Thanks for the help.

I haven't a lot of big trips on it yet but I rode 500 KM from Ottawa to Quebec City and I didn't feel sore. I'd consider it more of a sport bike than touring because of it's slightly leaned forward ergonomics, but that's me.

There a few alternatives for luggage for the SV. Givi is certainly one of the them.

I have not seen hard bags for the bikes yet. I have soft ones and they work great. I would consider it to be more of a sport than touring as well. I ride about 300 miles trips one way everyother weekend. After that my throttle hand is a bit sore, but that can be fixed with cruise control. It is a bike that you can easily shift around on if you are getting uncomfortable. I love mine and have put 20k miles on her in 2 years.

I think that answers my questions. I am wanting something where you set more upright and haven't seen any cruisers that I like other than then going with another M50, but that seat.........ouch and I don't really care for the looks of the V-strom.

So I guess the search begins.

Booo!!!!! Actually if you can get over the looks of the V-Strom then you will find it has a very good riding position and you sit upright pretty much. Especially since I have changed saddles and installed risers on my Strom it has a VERY egronomic riding position.

But the Strom's looks aren't for the faint of heart.

The V-Strom isn't totally crossed of the list, but it's down toward the bottom.

Sw-Motech makes brackets for Givi bags.

They also make side rack but couldn't find pics.
