Hi Telmo, very nice pictures and your mc. If you don't mind could you indicate which island you live in or just send me PM so that I can see more on the Internet.

Ok, i've procrastinated enough, here are a few of the ones i've got here.

Bald hill, this is almost at the end of a short run through sydney's "Royal National Park", its a gorgeous view too but not as good as at Stanwell Tops which is used for hang gliding and powered chutes. A note here,Stanwell tops is where Lawrence hargraves pioneered the box kite, which was an inspiration to the wright brothers to create powered flight.

Bells Line of road is between Windsor and Bathurst, it is a lovely run about 145km long. This pic is from a pub just as you're leaving Windsor Plains.

Canberra, A nice place with a few good runs about in there, but i thought i'd include the picture as it's quite a different set of scenery to other places along the east coast.

more pictures. The hunter valley is at the top of the Putty road (unfortunately i dont have any photos of that on hand at the moment) and is one of the biggest wine producing areas of eastern Australia. Popularity of running a winery in the hunter valley has increased at an insanely high pace, going from 10 or so winery's 40 years ago to what i've been told is over 200 when i went there this time last year.

Kangaroo valley is south of Macquaries pass (which is in the next lot of pics) and has got some absolutely gorgeous areas, there are a few backroads with some really nice twisty bits that not many people use. But nothing beats working your way down there and stopping at one of the pubs in the lower kangaroo valley for a feed and then either scoot back up the way you came or head south to slab it home via Nowra.

Macquaries pass, a tight twisty section of road after you slab it south from stanwell tops for about 15-20km and detour off towards jamberoo. Nice bit of very tight road, unfortunately its also the only viable way to get from Wollongong across to mittagong/the main freeways and thusly semi's and busses go on that road. a few fatalities have happened on that road

Upper Nowra, this is that road you can slab it back from kangaroo valley i mentioned, some beautiful scenery though.

Seacliff Bridge is just south of Stanwell tops, in fact it is visible in the second from the right picture below from stanwell tops. It was created as there used to be a road called coal cliff road that hugged the cliffs, unfortunately there are a large number of coal seams in the cliffs and underneath the roadway. There were a number of road closures and fatalities on that road due to the road subsiding, rocks falling from the cliffs above, fortunately there hasn't been a fatality directly caused by rockslides, but there have been some close calls. the road was closed for a number of years while they figured out how to fix the problem and built the bridge.

Also in these pictures you can see just how high Stanwell tops is above the ocean.

I have an unnatural fear of long bridges. Dunno why...it must be the troll blood in me crying out to get under the bridge. Durn near pissed myself driving my cage over the 7-mile bridge when heading to Key West a couple years ago.

great pics tho. makes me want to go have a lie down.

Exact a month has passed since the thread was opened - pleased to find more than 1600 views and about 70 replies already. Would be nice if this could reach 10% replies of the total views. Please don't hide your good pictures.

Joe, don't plan on driving in northern Italy. The entire Autobahn is built in the middle of a set of mountains, so there is no ground there. The entire road is made up of bridges and tunnels.

You're going to think I'm a moron but this shows how flat and boring it is around here. There just aren't a lot of twisties around so this is my favourite run:

We have a new WalMart and Canadian Tire at the south end of town and there's a neat little wriggly road between the two so I love to bomb back and forth there as the sun is coming up!

I know, I know.... I really need to get a life!

I have never driven or ridden this but thinking about long bridges reminded me of a recent email I received. It just doesn't look right to me.

Quote:
The Millau viaduct is part of the new E11 expressway connecting Paris and Barcelona and features the highest bridge piers ever constructed. The tallest is 240 meters high and the overall height will be an impressive 336 meters, making this the highest bridge in the world.

Yes, the bridge exists. But I believe the picture was taken with a "fish-eye" lens so it looks much more curved than it really is. I've got to take a look if I can find it in Google Earth ... BRB.

It looks like the shots in Google Earth were taken a few years ago, just as they were beginning construction.

Look for yourselves: 44.080467, 3.023545

The bridge is basically straight...

This was shot by a fellow rider from the VTXOA Message Board, TerrySC. It is riding Rt. 28 in NC, from the Kickstand Lodge in Stecoah, up to the Tail of the Dragon. I am the rider two in front of him, in the pink jacket (imagine that?! hehe)
Beautiful scenery up in those parts!

Now that looks like some nice rolling turns! Bet that was a lot of fun.

That picture almost looks like it was stitched together or taken from behind glass perhaps? That would be something to ride either way.

"Please post photos of your favorite riding route "

For the last several days, I have been finding it hard to avoid posting a "riding your mom" reference in here.... you know ... something like "I would post a pic of a favorite "ridding route", but your (anyones') mom asked me not to show anyone else the films we made"

Is there something wrong with me?
