Hi, I'm back!! The winter was COLD but much warmer than usual winters around here. So is this part of global warming too??? I'd been riding my gixxer all winter!! It's a FUN bike!! And light too!! This is GREAT for me. Last I went strawberry picking and ate 63 strawberries! (I bet NOBODY can beat this. laugh) And on the way, met a REALLY cool rider (see pic #2 and 3) on a Harley. He was sooooo cool in his goggles and helmet that I had to post this, although this is really not any scenery (sorry....). Last edited by kay; 04-04-2007 at 09:56 AM. |

Hmmm, no strawberries here yet. The asparagus season should begin in about a week, but strawberries need another month or so before they are ripe. I was out with my riding partner this past weekend. We went around the southern part of the Black Forest. If you have Google Maps installed, the route started around Sissach, Switzerland, then over Fricktal, on past Leibstadt, then over the bridge into Waldshut, Germany. From there up the B500 to St. Blasien, then around towards Schluchsee, then east of Feldberg to Titisee. After stopping there for something to eat, we headed up towards St. Märgen, St. Peter, Stegen, then Kirchzarten and over the Schauinsland to Todmoos. We headed down the B317 to Zell, then up to Gresgen, then down towards Kandern, around to Steinen, and over Maulberg back to the Autobahn bridge at Rheinfelden. All in all, around 260 km (160 miles). It was fun crossing some of the mountains, riding along with 10cm / 4" of snow on the roadside!

Kay, glad you are back to the Board. Wow! 63 strawberries? It's one of my seven wonders - gluttons are not always big men. I ought to know the trick that you guys can keep up in good shape. Every bit of foods and drinks is nourishing in my spare tires Cute photos. A photo of you in close-up without a helmet would be great. |

Oh, by the way, Inspiron, these strawberries are green house grown so you can go strawberry picking from end-Jan through May. They are REALLY GOOD! Nothing like those you buy in stores! Also, as you can see in my pic, they are grown in blocks piles up to make something like a low wall, so you don't get any dirt on the fruit. That is why you can literally pick them and eat them without worrying about washing them. Samurai, you want MY pics? I thought you wanted "beautiful" pics! But I'll go look if I have any. In fact, I don't like having pictures taken so I really don't have much of my own.

I have Google Earth installed in my office PC but not yet with my own. The problem is............that is sooooo interesting that once I start playing around with it, I just can't stop. I've been to Switzerland and at that time, we travelled by car. I remember what a beautiful country it was! OK. I gotta install this tonight. Oh, btw, I tried to look for a photograph where I'm alone because I didn' t want to show other people without getting their approval, but I couldn't find any!! So I've posted one shot with a Star Wars Storm Trooper and another with a girl friend. (I'm wearing a wig in the shot with Trooper so don't think I have blond hair! Congratulations on your ☆☆☆☆☆ rating! That is awesome! I went to Chiba during the past weekend and got some "yellow" flower photos. These "Na-no-hana" were in full bloom too. BTW, looked up the English translation for "Na-no-hana" and it said "rape blossoms". Umm.........sounds terrible. I think I'll stick to "Na-no-hana". Oh, I bungy jumped! It felt like flying and it was great! Last edited by kay; 04-09-2007 at 11:40 AM.

Ooops. Forgot to answer your question. What's the other girl's sign? I think it's "hang loose". She does that in every single photo! LOL |

That looks like "Raps" flowers - they are planting that around here and press it to make oil for cooking and/or bio-diesel.

Dave the seals are not leaking but I did get a new rear tire. Also I have a long list of thing that I've done so far. The biggest was lowering it 2 inches, lowering the pegs, tank bar, tank bag, trunk, 12 volt outlet, new windsheild, new seat, handle bar raiser, manual petcock and Carbs cleaned. Also my friend painted the black on the lower half which was all read. I have one more thing to do one of the cards foat gets stuck and gas leaks when engine is off so I can't forget to shute off gas. Started a new job yesterday in smithfeild RI, more money and alot closer to home.

I got what you mean. I looked at the second picture and now I understand what you mean by depth. This is fun! Jim, you are right. They make oil out of that plant here too. It's mainly for cooking. Also, they pick the plant while it's still young and we eat them as vegetable. The plant has to be young though. Otherwise it becomes too coarse to eat. It's also treasured here as a sign of spring. Tiger, yes!! It IS 菜の花 (Na-no-hana). Jeez, is Samurai giving you language lessons? I am impressed! That day, I rode my GSX-R600 to Chiba. It was sooooooo nice, Spring has finally come!
