Quite welcome. It sure does! Even ONE makes a party in English. "I have your party on the line. Go ahead, please." that's I hear when placing a person to person oversea call. Don't you think English is a crazy language as Japanese is? Good thing is both are not Greek to you and me

This is an OLD house that is now a very cozy and nice restaurant where I had lunch when I went riding with my friends this summer.
Would you like to show the inside? We just take it for granted but you know ....

Okay, this is by no means my riding style, but this YouTube video was shot by some people here in Switzerland, so you get an idea about the roads and scenery here near my home.

YouTube - Bärner Hoble, Bikers of Berne Intro 2007

Look at the scenery and the roads, not the riding style...

This video is awesome. Needed to watch three times to look at -
1st: the riding style
2nd: the twisties
3rd: the scenery
Great area for the riders!

I love these places!!!
interested in the menu (prices) of the cozy restaurant, as it is said that to renew the thatched roof costs several 10K to 100K dollars! And also said kinda hard to find the workmen timely. Shirakawago, the village of the houses with the thatched roofs (one of the world cultural heritage) may cost fortune when they need to renew. The pics are from the website.

Wow!!!
Great video, great roads, great twisties!!
But...did this guy go down a couple of times?? LOL!
Gosh, I'd love to ride there!

RB, about that old restaurant, unfortunately I didn't take much shots of the inside. Mainly, shots of friends, eating!! Ahaha. Obviously, not too much to look at.

BUT! I found one that sort of shows what it was like inside! Of course, again, my friends are in the way, but you can still see how OLD the place is.

LOL - what is it they say about the US? We think 200 years is a long time, but 200 miles is a short distance That is one of the reasons I want to visit Japan and again to Europe. I have always lived in places that were all to anxious to tear something down because it was too old, but other countries have taken great pains to preserve history.

LOL - 200 miles is a short distance in the US? Then I've never made what we call a long ride in a day since I bought a ST About 200 year stuff, incidentally the statue of a Kay's pic is a literates of Jyupensha (1765~1831), he was a bit older than the US when he was born - People in Egypt, Italy ... would consider it's quite newer, thou

Tiger, 200 years is a long time?
But it's only around the corner!!! LOL Just joking...
But true, we don't have things as long as some of the other countries, but we've got some fairly old stuff.

As far as distance is concerned, I have a terrible sense of direction. This is why I feel better riding in Japan because even if I get lost, I know I can come home some way or another. In the States, I'd be a dead person. LOL!!

By the way, even here, I often get lost in Tokyo and find myself in neighboring prefectures!!

And don't ask me how this can happen or what I do wrong, because if I know the answer, I won't get THAT lost in the first place.

Don't you worry! You reminded me of the guy I used to give a ride to the office from the hotel in Raleigh everyday for a month. One day he wanted to rent a car so that he could have more freedom. There's only one turn from the hotel to the office but he got lost. Oh - I understand why you like to ride on the race trucks.

LOL! Now you know!
But putting jokes aside, you are right. In fact, I do like it because I don't have to worry about where to turn or finding my way back. And I can always come back to the same spot without thinking.

I think I can get along real well with your friend. He sure has something in common!

Yup, you can pal up with that person, but I wished to goodness that I had not pulled a person's leg who has no sense of direction. That person was in deep s-h-one- t while he was on business trip there. How about a GPS device that is on bargain sale at NAPS bike shop in your Ward in Tokyo.

I still haven't forgotten about those Skip Barber track pictures... everybody's been gone for Thanksgiving (including me)... maybe I can catch up with the girl who has the pics this week

Thanks giving! I even forgot that it was thanks giving week.
Just been super busy lately......
Haven't even gone riding, but friends sent me some pictures of where they went last weekend just to make me jealous.

Am almost in hibernation now - this thread is almost dead. Can anyone post the winter riding route?

Reported to the Moderators that #195/196 posts (so far) were against the Forum rules ...

To Moderators: Do you use the used numbers (#195/196 that will be deleted) to a newer post? If Yes mine (#197) will turn out to be a bad post (#195)

Since 1/11/07 my rides have been in my head.

1/12/07 had to use the cage (in the am) to take wife to the DR. in Ft. Worth. Started raining shortly after noon, then temp went below freezing, under ICE STORM WARNING till 6:00am Monday (1/15/07), for now riding in a DREAM.

Yesterday the high was freezing point in Northern part of Japan, in southern 78 F and the Tokyo area 55 - about time for me chicken rider to awake from hibernation.

The weather has been screwy all over the world. How about your area?
