Can we at least agree to disagree about agreeing to disagree?

What we have here is a failure to comunicate. (Cool Hand Luke 1967 spoken by Strother Martin as the Captain)

I have been run off the road by truckers coming at me in my lane. I wish no one would have been killed in that tragic accident. I drive home after a couple of drinks and I pray no one is injured because of my stupidity. I also noticed that alcohol and girls and vehicles make for stupidty.

If Billy wasn't drinking:
If the moped rider could have seen him:

Tragic loss of life - stupid meaningless act.

In this guys defense, I've been on that part of the A1A when I was doing some work with the Harris Corp, and it is bad. (I had some dinner at a crab restaurant just down the road from Melbourne beach if anyone is familiar with that area.) Even the sections that have lights, they are HPS, tall, and don't do a real good job lighting the road and the surrounding area; I had trouble seeing.

Don't misconstrue this as defending Billy Lane and his actions/driving; however, the area is bad from what I recall.

Okay, perhaps the road sucks. Billy Lane still needs to be castrated for his own stupidity.

Can't argue with you there, it is a dangerous place, especially in the areas that are now turning off the lights to help with the turtle migration.

So you caught crabs at Melbourne Beach? Oh, wait I guess I read that wrong.

Woah now, I grew up in Melbourne and have driven that section of highway MANY times. Just because lighting isn't up to par and just because one didn't see the scooter; doesn't justify one passing other cars on a known poor street across solid double lines. I am not the epitome of the perfect driver, but a little common sense goes a long way.

Also, you can try to justify idiots all you want, but people in this country need to start taking more responsibility for their own actions. People taking advantage of the system ultimately leads to crap laws and warning labels on bags of peanuts. It's a complete retarded act of trying to protect the stupid and prevent those with the, "Someone did me wrong, I want retribution" attitude.

I hope he burns and if I kill someone doing something stupid as well... I'll own up to my actions and will take whatever punishment the system determines. Although, once I'm in jail I'll fight my arse off to protect said arse!!

From what I hear, Billy Lane is changing his ways. Cut off the dreadlocks, giving up the intoxicants, etc. Could be related to the other court appearance he has in North Carolina next month as well, don't really know.

Chevy has taken back their two trucks and one car with the Choppers Inc logos.

Don't know much, people either love or hate him it seems. But all seem to agree that this was something that was probably going to happen in some way.

Nice article yesterday on the true victim here, George Morelock.

Yes, with head protection, he may still be around today.

However, there is a crazy philosophy out there about life that says, live life while you're alive, don't simply stay alive until you die.

Indian Larry was most probably cognizant that sustaining a head injury without a full-face helmet while performing stunts would kill him. However, he obviously didn't give a crap. But, who's to say that Indian Larry liked, no LOVED, living life that way.

As long as an individual's actions stop short of encroaching upon the rights of others, who gives a sh#t if they make stupid decisions?
