Default Noob Question

I've been thinking:

"What the heck is a noob ?"

"What is the definition of a noob ?"

Is it defined by the number of year a person's been riding, by miles, by physical skill level (i.e., being able to drag knee, etc.), by mental skill level (i.e., ability to recognize potential problems or hazards, and maturity), how many different conditions a person has been riding in, or combination thereof ?

From Urban Dictionary:
2. noob
647 up, 144 down

comes in two variations, noob and newb.

Noob is meant as an offensive term towards someone who is not nessicarily new, and quite often is directed at someone that is |somewhat| experienced but at the same time stupid/disruptive and/or totally incapable of learning.
A noob is almost always someone who thinks they're cool but obviously aren't. Also used in 1337speak.
see also: n00b, nub, ch00b, n00bo, n00blet.

I think I fit the profile quite well.

I believe it's mostly conditional. Even experienced riders have moments of n00bery.

ok....Now that I'm back from work........

I see a newb as someone new to something that is willing to learn/give and enjoy what their getting envolved in........

Where as.....

I see a noob as someone "about the same" as Ext1jdh posted in his first noob meaning........disruptive, doesn't want to learn, whether new or not.

Fascinating: I didn't know there is a difference between noob and newb.

Yes, I am a noob....

Damn....

I always thought Noob was the same as FNG. Didn't realize it meant:

I learned something new today....n00bery....of which I suffer most of the time. Yes that's it "I Suffer From N00bery".

At least that's what the voices in my head tell me.
