Default Quebec: fee are increasing as of 2008

We had talked about this a little on here. But now it's official. Not sure what I'll do yet...

The official press release is in French but I wrote a quick run down on my blog.

I haven't been keeping up with the exchange rate, what is it ??

I'm just trying to put into perspective the price increase,

Sounds like a whole lot of money to me, more than I would want to think about.

I have some decision to take. Even if I decided, God forbid, to sell my bike, I'd loose a lot because of that bloody increase... People won't be as eager to get a bike.

That "STINKS" bud.

Hope you find a way to compromise between the two (smaller bike vs price)

Smaller bike would have to be under 401 cc...

There's regular bike and sportbike. Don't know what makes a bike a sportbike according to them. I certainly hope that they CAN see the difference between an SV650 with 70 hp and a Gixxer 600 with 100+hp

One can hope no?

I'll have to create an "Adopt a Quebec Biker" program. For each donation, you'll get a picture of the biker and his ride!

I thought it was bad here!

Vehicle Registration *, **
Passenger - 4,000 lbs or less $29.50
Passenger - 4,001 lbs or more $34.50
Pickup Truck - 6,501-7,500 lbs gross weight $40.50
Motorcycle $27.50
Trip Permit $5.00

Guess it's nothing compared to what you are going to have to pay.

Quebec will be a great place to buy used bikes in the next couple of years.

So what are you looking at to insure the bike for the year?

What does everybody here pay to ride their bikes?

Insure for my SV for a year is something like $400 if I remember correctly. No idea if that will increase too...

We have a pretty big cut on the insurance since a good portion is included through the SAAQ's fees, that's for sure.

But still, there reasons are not justifiable for the fee hike! Someone up there despise bikes and especially sportsbike. There are idiots everywhere, but this is another case of everyone paying for the a few.

This is another demonstration of how the power to tax is the power to control. They despise sportbikes and want to minimize the number of them that are on the streets. You have my condolences, maybe it is time to convert the SV650S Lower Faring Project fund into a Help Louis Register a SV650S in a Place that Hates Them fund.

Is there any tea you can throw in the river?
