| Fender Buffer ![]() | I meant to share this when it happened but I've been sick and also had to endure a Friday night and all-day Saturday class and now have a breather. Anyone in the SE area of the U.S. most likely knows the amazing number of thunderstorms certain parts have been getting, along with the "higher-than-normal" temperatures and humidity. I'm riding the bike to school since there is absolutely NO parking to be found for cars and I get out of class Thursday night to a wall of blinding rain. I check my phone for the weather report and see that if I wait about 10 minutes, it'll be light enough for me to ride home. So I wait it out, walk over to the bike, put my books in my saddlebags and people all the while, so many people staring a this "chick" getting ready to ride a motorcycle in the rain. Now here's the part I wanted to share because I'm not sure if it's just me..... One of the absolute best feelings in the world was putting on that water-soaked helmet in the searing heat and humidity. That felt so d**n good and the ride home was so refreshing. I stopped off at a local Sonic on the way home where I knew a local biker club was having their weekly gathering, chatted with a few friends, got some dinner, and headed on home. As good as it felt riding wet in the heat, I think that's why I'm stuck in bed now with this head cold. ::sniff::sniff:: Aloha, Kehau

| I know exactly what you mean. During my trip around the western states in June I'd soak my t-shirt at every gas stop. Under my mesh jacket it felt like I was wearing an ice cube. It was heaven! People looked at me funny when I'd come walking out of the c-store bathroom with a soaked upper half, but I didn't care. It was worth it. As soon as we were rolling again it was all goosebumps and grins.

But I bet half the people were wanting to see a hot "chick" in a wet T-shirt, "goosebumps" and all. Also, and I feel bad about this, but "Happy Belated Birthday"!

| Yes, it's a good feeling in hot weather, but what I detest afterword's is cleaning the bike. That's why I avoid the rain like the plague. On another note a bandanna soaked in cold water and placed around your neck is a God send also. I swear it's the only reason I made it back from Upper New York state to central New Jersey one God awful August day way back when.

| On my last m/c trip I wore one of these: Mixed MEDIA/Sound RIDER! - Clothing - TechNiche Evaporative Cooling Vest (as seen in MCN) ![]() You soak it in water for a bit, then wring it out and wear it under your jacket. Feels like AC when you first put it on. Later it just knocks down your temp. I found when I wore it it still seemed hot out but I never sweated. Without it I was sweating. Works even better with a mesh jacket and probably is better out west in hot/dry vs hot/humid where it wouldn't evaporate as quickly. I kept mine going on the road by bringing a large ziplock bag to soak it in.

| There is only one thing I hate about riding in the rain. That is knowing it's going to take me 2 1/2 hours to clean the bike.
