Default First windshield

I just put a windshield on my C90 and I think I'll enjoy the highway a little more now. I was just wondering what everybody uses to try to keep the windshield in as new condition as possible. I read somewhere that furniture polish cleans it well and causes the bug platters to not stick as much. What do you think?

I used to use Era cloths washing soap
mix it a little stronger than nromal
it leaves a clear film of soap on your windsheild that the bugs dont stick to as well as clean glass/plaastic
wash it with same and they come right off

Note: This is a Fl. Love Bug Trick

I have used McGuiars cleaner wax on it and it comes out pretty good. Then I bought a lexan polish at a dealership and like that two. You use that the same way you wax a car, rub on and buff off. Also, when there's bugs on it, I will take a soft cloth, such as a towel, wet it with very warm water, but not scalding, and lay it on top for about 10 minutes. It helps loosen and soften the bugs, then I wipe them off gently, then use the polish

Anybody ever try rain-x? I know it leaves a bit of a film...I was going to use it on my helmet but decided against it because of the haze it leaves behind

I've been using Rain x on all my windshields, and helmet visors for years without a problem. I know the label says it can attack some plastic, but it hasn't hurt anything I've put it on, and the rain just runs right off, and bugs come off easier too. I carry the little towelettes in my saddle bags, and reapply it if it looks like rain.
