| 100% Title Free ![]() | Rockhead pointed out to me that I already posted this here. Sorry. One morning before work when I started my bike, I heard a very slight increase in cranking duration. I typically get "that feeling" when a battery is about to go belly up, so I promised myself I'd have it tested at the dealer after work. I left the office to grab lunch, having completely forgotten about the battery. The bike started just fine and I went on my way. I was cruising at a at very low speed through a parking lot several miles away from work when a woman in an oncoming car JERKED the wheel to nab a premium parking spot. Her car came screeching to a halt less than a foot from where I had stopped my bike (how she had missed my high beam in her face, I'll never know). I put it in neutral as she backed up, resumed going forward before parking in a nearby spot just behind me. I left the bike idling with the intent to let this woman know that she had almost added to the most common type of motorcycle accident, even though at low speed. She remained in her car, intentionally stalling because she saw me waiting there. I pulled the bike into a spot and cut the motor to write her a friendly note (all sarcasm aside). I had nothing to write on, so I walked to a Starbucks that was right in front of me to get a napkin. At this point, she backed out of the spot and took off. "Oh well," I thought to myself. I got back on the bike and only heard a "click" when I tried to start the bike back up. The battery was toast. The moral of the story: Sometimes, you just gotta let it go. (I had a coworker bring a 12v jump box to me so I could take the bike immediately to the dealer to have the battery tested/replaced.)
