Sort of a cheaper version. They are known as an insta-trike kit (and by several other names). Less expensive and easy to convert back to 2 wheels.

There is a kit for older wings known as "landing gear" (training wheels) that would automatically lower when the speed dropped below 15mph!!!

I would agree, however these look more like trailer wheels, and the rear tire is still on the ground

well I dont know if you call $4000 cheap but, they are ok in my book for people that want to ride but are afraid of falling or for someone who has fallen before and cant take that chance again, or what ever reason they want to use.
Atleast they are riding.

Some Wing rider, as they age, find their hips give them trouble, the automatic
low speed drop wheels, provide the comfort and the ability to keep riding without the need to switch to a Trike.

I guy I know saw three little old men coming into a parking lot with wings and when they slowed down training wheels lowered out of the saddle bags. They had a hydraulic system and if they went below 5mph they came down. They never had to put their feet down. These guys were in their 70's and had sold everything they owned and rode across Canada all summer and when the weather started to turn cold they headed south. What a life.

Actually it is made to raise at 18 mph and lower at set same speed. They use a switch on the bike to move it.

The other is made to attach to the bike and stays in contact at all times.

Stacy MN where they make these is just down the road from me! I'm going to get a set, and a "babe cage".

I'm all for a guy keeping riding. But why not just get a side hack?
