What's beyond my comprehension is how badly some people will flinch if you were to flick a rubber band at their face, yet the thought of a highway-sized slab of concrete or ashpalt coming at their head doesn't really phase them enough to wear a helmet.

I don't know about those guys, but I plan to get up and ride again after my first crash, and it's not too easy to do so if you're a vegetable or worse.

First, glad to hear that you are on your way to recovery. Wondering if you have (had) a windshield or not? Sounds like you were thrown over the van rather than jumping. I have a C50 with a ws and wondered, if I had the chance, would I even be able to make it over that or not. Would hate to smash into that in a scenario like that. Hope you have a full recovery.

I didn't have a windsheild on the bike and with the fact that I was so close to him when he pulled out. It wasn't a matter of was I go to hit the van. It was where am I going to hit the van. I leaned the bike left in hope he would stop and I could get around him, but that didn't happen. My right leg was smashed between the bike and the van (most likely where the femur was broken).
I then went over the hood with my back towards the van and went over the right side of the handlebars.

Well then I'm just glad to hear you're ok then. That paints a terrible picture in my mind.
