Default Two things I'm fed up with.

1) "DO A WHEELIE!!!"

Lately, about twice a week I pass by someone on foot who holds their hands above their head and does an "air throttle," while mouthing "do a wheelie!" First of all, I'm decelerating for a turn, you meathead. Second, what's in it for me besides a towtruck ride or worse? I'm not a clown; I am not here for your amusement. On the other hand, at least half of all Gixxer riders would probably do a wheelie.

2) "Real" bikes

This weekend at work, a young waitress began talking to an older biker, asking when he was going to give her a ride and all that stuff (he rode in on a cruiser), even though it was just a flirtacious tactic to get a bigger tip. Later that evening, I mentioned something to her about going for a ride on mine, and because she didn't know at the time that I ride, she asked what kind of bike I had. When I told her, she said "oh... not a REAL bike?" Half-joking, I told her that we couldn't be friends anymore. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to come up with a snappy comeback to this one as of yet. Nonetheless, it's one of the few things that actually gets under my skin.

I would probably respond with something like ...

If you don't think that 160 horsepower, and 0 to 60 in less than 4 seconds is a "real" bike, then I don't need your sorry *** sitting on it.

^^^^ With comments like that you come across threatened. Why do sport bike riders feel that they need to defend their desire for sport riding? If you bought your bike for your own enjoyment, who cares what anyone else thinks? You can't/shouldn't force someone to like something just because you like it. When you receive negative comments about something, in this case your bike, consider the source and move on. It's not worth your time and energy. Just my two cents.

I'm sure she said it in jest. It would just be fun to have a good zinger in return. Anyone who says something like that and actually means it is clearly too dull to argue with.

Is it that serious? When I was a kid I could remember wanting to see ppl on motorcycle doing wheelies because it was something exciting, it was a stunt. Even most of my friends who have never ridden ask me to do wheelies, its not something to get annoyed about, you should just understand that why do not know what you know regarding proper safety of a motorcycle. Remember everyone in the world wasnt born in a shoei helmet with full gear and David L Houghs Proficient Motorcycling in there lap. Its going to happen until the day you die and its something that will continue to happen because ppl love exciting things.

When faced with a difficult situation you should always ask yourself "What would Jesus do?" … Jesus, no doubt, would pop a wheelie, he would wreck and die, it’s all good though, he’d be back doing it again in three days so it kinda worked out for him … but I think you see where I’m going with this.

Nothing wrong with that... I'm talking about grown adults though!

I had a young guy in a truckful of young guys indicate that he'd like to high-five me on the interstate last month. I politely declined.

..and maybe it's just the evil spirit in me, but I would have probably had a few replies as I seem to excel in this area.

For Example:
Oh, I see you've only had experience with cruisers...I'm so sorry to let you down, but if I were to take you for a ride you would most likely wet yourself.

Or

...A Real Bike? Oh wait a minute...for a second there I thought there was a chance you knew what you were talking about. (laughing) And now we all know that you don't.

If given more time & if I had a Sport Bike (I'm a cruise rider) I'm sure I could come up with others...but one of these just might do it for you.

Sportys do it fast and get into the tight spots.

Cruisers take their time and you're all tingly afterwards.

D..

The best comeback to the wheelie I saw was last year. Can't remember which member posted it so I can give proper credit. It went something along this line. The member was tired of people in cars sitting next to him at lights doing the same thing, mouth the word wheelie, and make the hand gesture. He would reply by pointing at the car, and make a circular motion with his finger indicating to the driver he'd like to see him perform a doughnut.

Dude,

My answer to the Wheelie thing is to yell or motion with my fingers for them to do a 360 in a mocking tone.
