Default My first track day: UNBELIEVABLE!

I didn't know what I was in for yesterday, but boy did I love it! What was billed as a defensive riding course was nothing short of an amateur racing trainer! I learned how to position my body, enter a turn, look through it, and exit it in far greater detail than I ever imagined. I feel like I'm now privvy to the secrets of the MotoGP riders! And man, are my legs sore! I don't think I've ever used this many exclamation points in one post!!!

It was incredible. I had boots and pegs on the road, and while hanging off! We had two primary rules: third gear and no braking. All day. What a fantastic challenge. I learned more in 60 miles of track time than i have in ten thousand road miles and dozens of hours of reading. Just amazing. It was taught by experienced racers, so what I was getting was firsthand. Wow. I'm signing up again for September.

These two shots are from early in the day. By the end I had no daylight down there. You sportbike guys know where I mean.

There are a bunch more photos of me and the other riders here. It's a bookmark of a frame of the photog's site. I'm in the 'Class group' and there are 6-10 pages of photos per session.
