Default GSX info?

Hello everyone, I plan on buying a bike around the march 07 time frame and I wanted some information on what I can do to get ready. I have my heart set on getting a 750 and I understand that the bike has to be a 4 stroke in America. The thing I would like to know is why that is, In Japan they are using 2 stroke motors and they are faster. I may be wrong, but that was how it was explained to me. Thanks in advance for the info everyone.

Do you have a motorcycle License? Is this your first bike? Have you taken the MSF Rider Safety Course? Do you live in Japan or America? I realize that you are new to the forum so allow me to say WELCOME!!!!! The answer to your question would be easier if you would take the time to answer those questions I posted above.

I seriously doubt if Suzuki is building a GSX-R with a 2-stroke motor. I've never seen a 2-stroke that was larger than about 150ccm, and even these are rare. In the EU (and most of the US), a big-bore 2-stroke would never be allowed on the street because it would never pass an emissions test. 2-stroke motors are powerful, but very inefficient and environmentally unacceptable (constantly blowing unburned fuel and oil out the exhaust).

Now, if you are talking about a 4-stroke, 2-cylinder engine (instead of an inline-4), that's a different story. The Suzuki TL series, SV series and V-Strom are all 2-cylinder engines, but these are not Gixxers.

And yes, what Gabriel asked still applies. How much experience do you have? A 750 isn't a beginner bike.

A GSX-R750 is way too much power for a new rider.
Even a 600 in this class of bike is too much for a new rider.

We all need a more forgiving bike to cut our teeth on and there are lots of options out there.

Suzuki IRAQ has a 750 Rotary Engine.

GSX-R’s are for experienced riders. If you’re new to riding start off on something smaller.

Welcome!!
