Default Another beautiful day of Riding in Alaska- a journal!

Since this board is called "Motorcycle-Journal"- I thought I would journal two days of riding in very, very Sunny Alaska!

I had alot of riding around the last two days- I am working on my truck, a line on my Diesel Dodge truck broke, so I have to replace an impossible to reach line on my truck. Oh well, errands on bike!

Anchorage is an oddly laid out city, very spread out. So you have centers of business scattered all over. It is real stop and go stuff, then, 5 miles or so at 65, then off the hiway, and back in traffic.

When it is really sunny and nice out in mid July here, it is paradise, no doubt! Anchorage is ringed by really big mountains on a pennisula on the pacific ocean. No matter where you ride in Anchorage, you have a killer view of some of the finest wild scenery on the planet!

I had a blast riding around, even though none of it was what you would consider a "ride" for a report- but you know- in real life, riding is done in bits and pieces- and the nice thing about motorcycles, if you commute on one, is you get to combine all that running around into a little fun time for yourself!

So, a couple of events- well, I have no car as I work on my truck- and I hired this guy for some day labor- had to give him a ride on the bike to get him home!

I told him "Hey, don't worry about the whole gay thang- you better hang on, it is better to be made fun of by other men that to clean road rash!" So I made him put on a lid and ride home with me on the back of the sabre. Bike road pretty good with that much wieght on it!

But, the next day, today, I had to give my live-in daycare provider a ride to the state licensing office, so I had to ride her down there on my bike!

So I did some riding with a couple folks on my bike that were, um, heavier than anyone else I had on my bike- and whew- braking distance changes dramatically!

I ended up getting a little sunburned yesterday, and a little today as well!

Nice riding for the last two days- you guys would have loved it!
