Angry Bad rider...

Sorry to have to vent like this but I hate it when people ride this way. Comming home from my girlfriends house just now in my car I was behind a sport bike at the stop light at the on ramp to the interstate. I dont know what type it was but it said 1100 on the tail section. He rode pretty gingerly down the on ramp so I figured he was a new rider. My plan was if he wasn't going very fast I was gonna pass him and check out his bike. When I got on the interstate I lost him in traffic so I went 70 like I always do. A couple miles from my exit I caught up with him. He was going like 65. I got next to him and he gunned it to 75. Not wanting to play around on the highway I got behind him and he slowed right to 60 mph. I braked and got way behind him and we both went down the same exit ramp. Going down the ramp, the squid rides in the middle of the lane with his left blinker on and wont let me by to make my right. I just looked at him and slowed down again. Close to the light I just went around him and he gave me the tuff guy stare. Why do people play with thier lives? A bike is not a car or a truck. I really wanted to tell him how stupid he was acting but I'm sure he wouldn't listen. Like I said, sorry, but I had to vent.

Sounds like what happened to me. I was coming back from the School and there was some older ninja to my left. The dude didn't have any blinkers or lights on it..looked like he was switching to leds?? Anyways, we're going a steady speed then out of no where he blows past me, had to be going atleast 85, in a 55. So I get behind him and follow him for a bit he slowed down to 70. Apparently he wasnt paying attention and noticed his exit was coming up so he just decided to cut off the truck next to me and split across another two lanes of traffic without any sort of signal or looking around. I heard the trucks tires from when he had to brake. It's so damn annoying when I see dumb *** riders not only playing with their lives but others. Someone could have rearended that truck...argh.

Just like bad car drivers we have bad riders, whose brains seem to have been left behind.

Ride your ride, do not let them get under your skin. Place a high value on your life.

Stopped at Wal-Mart {Stephenville, TX} last night, on the way in saw a bike parked on the painted {NO PARKING} yellow lines.
When I left Wal-Mart’s there were three bikes parked on the painted {NO PARKING} yellow lines.
They were the yellow lines around the HANDICAPPED parking slots.

So I ask what is the difference of parking a bike in a HANDICAPPED slot or parking on the yellow lined so that a handicapped person doesn’t have room to get in or out of their vehicle?

I asked about this same thing to a mall cop one day, because I always simply pulled into the open space next to the bicycle rack. His reply was that since it's private property the parking regulations are up to the property owners as long as it doesn't violate the law. For example, you can't park in a handicapped parking area because that's illegal; however, you can park in a spot labeled "Reserved for Families with Children" because there is no law allowing families special parking.

I was told that as long as I'm not blocking anyone else in or in the way of a handicapped person's vehicle, I can park in the yellow lined areas of the parking lot. If the Wal-Mart specifically has a "NO PARKING" sign there, then it should be treated the same as a fire lane. Your Mileage May Vary but that's what we've got here.

Hey fellow Texan! Man I haven't thought about that neck of the woods in years. Isn't Gordon near Mingus, Strawn, & Ranger, off of I 20? If you go south on FM 6 from I20 in Eastland you will end up in the town of Gorman. My Grandmother lived there as long as I can remember. I haven't been back since we buried her. We used to fish in Lake Leon and Proctor Lake south of Stephenville. Welcome to the forum!

i agree that by dodging all the freaky cagers out there, we earn the luxury of parking pretty much anywhere we want - but, dude, the handicapped spots are off limits to everyone, yes even the yellow around them.
because in a few years, after i've dumped my bike and am parking in the handicapped spots while waiting for my new leg to grow from a DNA sample in a lab somewhere and some two legged weenie has parked so i cant wheel out of the durned minivan i'm stuck cruising around in, i'm gonna bash it with my wheelchair driven leg/nubbs 'till it falls over!

Had a strange one on the ride home from work last night.

I'm cruising down the Interstate, doing the limit (65). In my mirror I see a sport bike coming up on me fast. It's a guy in office casual attire, button shirt, dress pants & dress shoes. He's driving with his left hand on his lap, his helmet shield is all the way up & he's gotta be doing 75+.

Suddenly I realize he's still coming. We're in the right lane of 3, all full of traffic...and this Bozo is trying to come along side me.

So I start a gentle weave, favoring the middle lane to try and show him that sharing my lane isn't something that's going to work.

Finally, I have to stop the weave because this Moron has his front tire parallel to my rear tire...and he's got this big dumb grin on his face.

So, in an effort to avoid running him off the road (something which did cross my mind) I hit the throttle, pass a car and get a few hundred yards ahead of him & the traffic which was near us.

What's he do? Something I should have guessed...he comes up next to me in the middle lane....thinking I want to race.

I got lucky and avoided any further complications by taking the next exit while the dope was beeping his horn and hitting his throttle trying to entice me.

Perhaps taking off to try and get away from him wasn't the smartest thing...but sitting there doing nothing while he got closer & closer seemed even more stupid.

He probably thought you were trying to "warm" your tires in preparation for a race... Hah!
