Default Did I miss the memo?

There seems to be this trend lately of dudes cruising the highway at about 65 in full-prone racing position. It's not really necessary, and it's a good way to catch the attention of the law. Did I miss the memo?

they should flip around and face backwards as not to look like they're racing.

Could be they might have been changing position to relieve pressure point off there butt among other places. I found myself doin' it from time to time for the looonngg ride down to Gatlinburg.

Then again..some might think it's cool ta look aggressive too.

+1 to Mavman. After about four hours I'm trying anything my reach will allow to relieve pressure, including standing up for extended periods. It's amazing how well I can hold my speed by sound alone.

depends on the wind conditions, very windy here, the temperature, rain.... When I want to vary where the air hits me I slide back and forth on the saddle and sit up or lay on the tank. If my wrists hurt I'll often lay on the tank just to relive some of the pressure, then if I enter a tighter turn than I feel comfortable laying on the tank for I will raise just slightly into the racing pose, and return after the curve. also it will change where and how much air hits my helmet and therefore how much noise it makes or how much fog it removes from inside

I'd have to lower them a couple of inches to be really comfortable. I can do that for a limited time but my legs are just a tad too long to keep them up there forever.

Shoot I'll ride full tuck as low as 55mph. Just depends on how I feel. 65mph you'd better believe I'm crouched down, that's what I bought a crotch rocket for! If I wanted to sit up all the time I'd have gotten another cruiser.

I like to crouch on the interstate. It really helps with the wind and the buffeting. I am going to try to drop the passenger pegs for a different leg position.

Hey guys! How did the M50 handle going to the Dragon and on the twisties?

also remember that taller riders have a harder time keeping comfortable so crouching lets you rest your chest on the tank and such, more positions = good.

as for rear pegs, how squiddly am I if I give that a try on the highway?

Hey farm,,, they handled a heck of alot better than my "LC" did. They were making good time running those bikes.

As far as throwing the legs on the rear pegs and how squidly would it look.....VERY!!!!

May look squidly, but dam if it didn't relieve some pressure on my tailbone on those 450 miles home.

That's understandable, but this is city commuting... I ride 30 miles each way and don't get that sore. If anything, I get the numb fingers.

I about fell off my bike laughing at the sight I saw coming up the highway the other day. The rider was crouched down over the tank like he was doing 150mph but his passenger was sitting straight up on the back. It didn't look like either one was comfortable.

Just as funny looking are the kids on their scooters who lay on the tank like it's going to make a big difference at 30mph.

Takes all kinds I guess...
