Default Carrying a business suit

Now I haven't done many long trips so far on the bike.

I'll have one coming in about 2 weeks. 453 KM (pretty tame compared to some, I know). One my concerns is that I'll need to bring my business suit... Any ideas? I'm gone for two nights (Ride Thursday, Meeting and Gala Friday, Ride back Saturday).

I have found clothes stay wrinkle free if you press them first and then roll them carefully before you put them in the saddlebags or backpack. I commute to work from my girlfriends house all the time, about 50 miles so not as bad, but I've done it a bunch and the dress at work is business casual, however I have found that full out dress pants dont wrinkle THAT much more than khakis....

I have used this site for packing tips before:

http://www.packinglight.net/plight/text_1.asp?tx_id=90&

It offers tips on how to pack a lot of items into a very small place.

I use Eagle Creek Pack-It folders when we travel a lot. You fold the items carefully, put them into the folders, velcro the folders closed, and they stay relatively unwrinkled during the trip. They are also available at packinglight.net.

Good luck, and have a safe trip.

Do you think I could ride in dress shoes, full business suit with the tiw flying around? I'd of course have gloves and helmet.

what do you have for backpack or luggage for the bike? if nothing you could always wear it under your gear, but I would think that would wrinkly pretty bad.

Decent size tank bag, backpack and I can bungee a bag on the pillion seat since I'll be riding alone.

As I said, I don't need a lot. The suit, a pair of jeans a tshirt or two and a tooth brush.

It's not related with my employer, but I think if it was I coudn't go on the bike.

I might use my small luggage bag and bungee it to the passenger seat. A little more room in there than my tank bag.

Could you have the suit mailed to your hotel, wear it to the function, then mail it home when it's all done?

Hmmm... I'll have to fold it anyway to fit in a box or something... but not a crazy idea.

I think I might stop by the shop I bought it and ask for tips...

My oldest son wore a Tux. to a wedding on his Ninja ZX600R.
He said he got some funny looks when he pulled up next to cars at stop lights.

Could send suit ahead by commercial transport of some sort. Taking it home is no problem, as wrinkles won't matter.

Louis, can you even SEE over that monster tank bag?

I would invest a few $$$ in some soft luggage that fits over the passenger seat. In there, you have enough space to fold (or roll) the clothes without crushing them.

An alternative would be a sports bag "bungeed" to the seat, but there you need to be a bit more careful that stuff isn't getting crushed and wrinkeled by the bungee cords.

Don't you have a little red wagon that you could tow behind with a rope? Then you would have lots of room for your spare clothes etc.
