I wave to motorcycles, scooters, even bicyclists! Two wheels is two wheels! Around these parts, the HD guys will wave back; it's the squids that are less apt to wave or even acknowledge you. I don't care, I still give 'em the "two low" wave/hand gesture.

When I first started riding I was too scared to let go of the handlebar so I just gave my best "cool dude" nod! Hey, ya do whatcha can....

Cheers,
Daryl

Almost ALL sport riders around here will wave, and be the first to do it. The cruisers are a didfferent story, I have yet to not get a wave back if I initiate it. The exception to this is on the highway, those cruisers with windshields will wave back, the ones without are a crapshoot. I guess they have too much of a death grip on the bars.

I'll wave back most of the times, but sometimes you are concentrating on that car slowing down in front of you or the old lady pulling out of ther driveway without looking so the wave sometimes is pre-empted...

I can't really name a type of bike or biker around here who doesn't wave - maybe Kentucky is just friendlier...

Riders in my area must be friendly. I get waves or nods from all kinds of riders (even scooters). I enjoy the camaraderie.

I do notice that a majority of the H-D riders do not wave back though. That's their choice, but I still wave to them.

Its because riding without a windshield is 10 times more cool.....

I don't wave to sportbikes either, they just don't seem to care to wave back so I stopped.

I wave to all bikes. When I ride through neighborhoods I try to wave at people in their front yards. Now, when I ride through a neighborhood people will look for me and wave to me before I pass their homes.

I also belive the wave should go, but we can't limit it to that, we also gotta get rid of handshakes, hugs, the word "hi", opening doors for ladys, picking up someones dropped papers for them. I mean such a laborious task such as lifting the hand off the bar, or even justflicking the fingers upward..... that is definately not worth the effort to communicate human togetherness and belonging and brotherly love among kindred spirits..... you dont hold the door open for 30 people in a row, but for a few you grab it, or just along your way through you hand it to the next, be nice, play nice, make america beautiful <tear on cheek ::sniff::>

About one in ten non-sportbike riders will wave/wave back at me in Phoenix, but in the popular mountainous riding spots, everyone waves... so I have no problem waving every 90 seconds.

Default Why even bother to wave

Why come I'm in the cage and I see a biker on one bridge waving to another biker on another bridge in the opposite direction and might I add Its about 50 yards to the left with high rails. He had to lift his arm above his head just to get the wave high enough for the other biker to even have a chance to see it, If he seen it all.
