Default Do you carry anything special on trips?

I'm just curious if others take things like: tire repair kits, small air pumps, tools, etc when on any medium-to-long trips (or even daily commutes). I've been thinking about what might be good to take along - just in case I have a problem out there.

Or - do you just hop on and ride - and not really worry about it?

For normal commuting, I like the AK-47 with folding stock and 75 rd. drum....

Safety wire and small side-cutters always.

Me, with the dragon tail trip comin' up........I'm up to date on the fluid levels..but I'll be taking towels, plexus, coolant, tools, extra gas, all riding gear needed, air compressor that works off the cigarette lighter in the cage that's comin' also, cell phone and maybe a cooler with beverages.

EDIT...AND maps too.

Daily commute, tools and a beverage......might look into a tire repair kit to go with also.

Spark plugs, first aid kit, I usually take a pistol + extra mag with me too. Nothing like being in the middle of nowhere with a broken bike.

There are some universal tools that I usually carry with me - a Leatherman, some duct tape, some cable ties, spare fuses, an auto-club card, a telephone, and some cash and credit cards. If anything bigger breaks, I'll call the auto club and have it trailered back to my mech. I don't repair MC tires. If they blow, they go.

EDIT: First-Aid kit, resparation mask, rubber gloves, and a compression bandage are all under the seat, along with the reflective vest (must carry in Italy and some other countries).

I have some wet-nap-type packets for cleaning glass and/or LCD screens that I gaffle from the office. They're not as effective as glass cleaner for removing bugs from my visor, but it's better than nothing.

lots of good ideas here. I need to find my Gerber multi plier tool. A shotgun would not be bad idea, get rid of those pesky birds out in the middle of nowhere that like to fly right in front of me!

It's not a horse, you don't have to shoot the bike just because it broke!!
