Question First timer needs advice

I would like to introduce my self. My name is Todd and I live in missouri. I bought my very first bike yesterday a '04 YZF 600R from a friend that has been riding for years and is currently helping me out doing the parking lot slow manuevers. I want to take that training course this summer but im in grad. school all day and then i work on the weekends for about three quarters of the summer, I know not taking the course is frowned upon around here but i do plan on taking the course asap. But in the meantime i just dont feel like im doing any good not riding the bike around my slow moving subdivision, i am not stupid enough to think i can just jump on a 600 and take off down 1-70 so dont rip on me too much for riding without the training course. Anyways i have been practicing making sharp U-turns at idle speed without putting my feet down and I feel very comfortable turning to the left but turning to the right is a different story, what is going on it cant be that much different can it. I just dont feel as balanced turning to the right (havent done any leaning yet) can somebody explain this or atleast tell me how to get over it. Thanks alot.
