Default Damn you Americans!

My fellow Canadians, I have come to a conclusion that in comparison to the roads on which American bikers ride upon, also known as 'roads in America;' our roads may be referred to as "****."

In the past 2 days, I have spent my life in America travelling on freeways for 40% of the time, sleeping another 40%, and taking stops at malls/family/friends 20%. During the 40% of our trip on the freeways, I noticed how beautiful the scenery is in America, as well as the-OK I"VE HAD ENOUGH!!! Americas freeways freakin make the roads i go on look like junk!

plz tell me there are some roads around here that are as nice as Americas roads, or is it that baltimore is just naturally beautiful?? lol

Edit: btw if you find the thread name offensive i apologize

The roads in Maryland, in general, are very good. I grew up there and when I went back last year I noticed that they'd actually seemed to have gotten even better in the past few years. You should travel around some more, road quality can vary greatly from state to state and often from county to county.

You should try riding in Europe ... There is nothing like the view from the top of a 8500 foot pass, or riding down the motorway with the Swiss Alps towering in front of you.

You didn't go far enough north. If you went to Pennsylvania and traveled on either I-81 or especially I-80, you would have felt right at home. I used to live there many moons ago, and I can still remember listening on the CB radio to the truckers complaining about the ride.

That doesn't make me jealous, or anything...

If you think Ontario roads are bad, don't come to Quebec!

Yes, Pennsylvania's roads can often suck! We have to drive them several times per year to visit family. However, most states have pretty good roads. The scenery is often nice, too. Lancer and I just took two days to drive back to Ohio from North Carolina. NC's and Virginia's roads are very good. West Virginia's are pretty good, and Ohio's are very good. It all depends on the state, and the weather from the winter before!

The whole New England area (US) is beautiful, twisty mountain roads and greenery.

Yup, Pa roads plain stink. They spend all this time fixing roads, but wouldn't have to be doing this if they would have just did them right in the first place. Also, alot of the roads were not meant to handle the population either. For instance, York has one of the highest population density in the country, but our roads are built for an "average" density of people. Hell, we are still using a road that used to be a dirt trail, Lincoln Highway/route 30 (goes from east coast to ewst coast). Meanwhile, others have made a real highway for traveling east and west. It was a highway in the early 1900s, but now it's just a normal road that takes a beating.

Our Roads should be nice, we pay enough freaking taxes. If our government would quit sending most of our tax dollars overseas to support other countries, they would be even nicer.

I'm in Ohio, the road quality is similar to MI, but a little better. If they wanted to, they could make highways that last for 20 or more years, but they won't because the initial cost is too high. There are airports in this country that land how many large jets a day on the same runway, and the concrete isn't all broken up, you can't tell me they can't make a road as durable as that.
