| Newbie | hi everyone, im new to the forum and i am looking into buying a gixxer 6 im just really starting to get into sportbikes and was wondering if you guys could tell me propper break in on this bike b/c i have seen many different views, also what maintaince is needed on this bike i want it to stay in top form, also any tips would be appriciated i am a beginner and need information

| In Training ![]() | im not going to tell you what to do but i dont recommend it. on a gixxer its not about speed its about mistakes. they are amplified tremeandously. it wouldnt even be fun for a beginner to ride and youd hate it for a long time. one little nervous twitch on the throttle and your in a situation where 5-10 years experience would really, really help. that said its your life so let me see if i can answer your question. you can either follow the owners manual or you can do what many guys on this forum do and use information provided here: http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm you make the call, but no matter what, be safe. definitley take the msf so youll be as good of a rider as you can be on that bike.
