Default 2007 Suzuki SV 700 ?

From http://www.raptorsandrockets.com/news.html

Quote:
Rumours are now talking about a capacity increase of Suzuki's long serving SV 650. Euro 3 is taking its toll and the popular middleweight V-twin is currently only Euro 2 homologated. This effectively means the SV has to change or disappear from Suzuki's model range. It is believed that Suzuki not only will change the SV to comply with the new emission rules but also increase capacity from 650 to 700cc. This will increase power and torque and keep the SV competitive in a new and much more competitive middle weight market. But don't expect too much as the new regulations also makes it difficult for the engine builders to achieve as much power as we have seen in the past. Hence a capacity increase is the easiest way out. Even the 1000 might get some changes and if it involves more cc's and torque we welcome the changes. Welcome 2007!

Sadly, the next article reports the end of the GSX 1400 in Europe

I think the 650 size is perfect. I'd love to see an SV400 (thay had it at least in Japan) more thans a SV700.

The old Bandit 400 inline 4 was a nice bike. These days, having a 400 is just not cool. Maybe gas prices will have some impact on the engine size trend before the Hondasakihazuki 3000cc cruiser is unveiled.

I bet that the price hikes in motorcycle registration fees in QC will have an impact (at least to Quebecers).

I know you're a proud Quebecer, Lou. But if the increase in fees is going to be as much as you say, I would consider moving accross the border.

I know it's in French but have you rad my blog entry on the topic? The table is pretty self explanatory. And in that, I don;t talk about the proposed fee hike for the license itself to have the right to ride a motorcycle.

Moving is not an option, but if this (fee hike) flies I might have to change the bike good thing I'm not rising an SV1000 however...

The deck looks like a nice place to sip a wine on a warm evening.
