Anyone new to the scene that live near the Hampton Roads area in Virginia? I"m new to the bike world 50 miles on my resume so far . Practicing to get my license sometime in the first week of June I also have family in Jacksonville, Florida and Jonesboro, Arkansas hopefully one day I'll be able to make a road trip on my bike their.

I had the privilege to ride a Katana last week, what a fun bike. Surely we have a few members from your area around here, but don’t call them Shirley. Soak up as much input you can from this and other sites, you'll get allot out of it.

Welcome to motorcycling, always wear the gear, use your head and stay safe............

Right now I'm doing the self taught thing. But I'm in the military so eventually I'll take the safety course that is taught on base. The only reason I haven't taken it yet is that I live 40 miles from base and I have plenty of interstate 64 and tunnels between me and my destination. My plan is to get my license from the DMV since its only a few miles from the house, get more practice and then make my way through Va traffic Hell to the MSF course they teach. Tell me if you think thats a good way to do it or not?

My new motto: As long as I'm alive I'm still practicing
