| Can anyone give me some good advice? I'm new to motorcycles and i'm looking at two bikes: a 1988 Suzuki Katana GSX600F, or a 1989 Kawasaki Ninja 600R, both for about the same price. They're both in good condition. I just can't make up my mind. Any info. or help on which is a better bike for me would be appreciated. (I'm also 6'2'' 200lbs.)

| They're pretty similar bikes (I think they were direct competition back then). They may be a bit too powerful for a starter, though. Welcome to the forum. Stick around and read a bit. You might appreciate what you can learn here.

| I'd look for something newer, 20 year old bikes are usually harboring multiple problems that increase their cost by 100%. If you love working on bikes - I'd say go for it, but for a new rider, you need something reliable and better suited for learning to ride. Look into taking the MSF BRC (Beginning Rider Course) and you'll learn a lot about bikes firsthand, making you a smarter buyer and rider.
