Default Gloves as my Issue.

I wasn't quite sure where to put this because the gear section has like 2 threads for the past year, inturn I decided to post here and if needed movement is certainly alright.

Back to the topic at hand. Literally.
I just purchased a pair of SPS gloves by Alpinestar, they came in the mail today. My problem is that I have long fingers. Every glove I try on I either have the issue of my fingers being scrunched up, or the size caving around my hands not allowing me to grip. (which is far less safe then no gloves at all) The SPS like other gloves I have tried are tight at the finger tips as well, my hopes are that the leather and kevlar will stretch like a pair of shoes do after age. If not I was curious what other gloves are available, gloves that are designed for small hands with long fingers?

I buy my gloves snug and soak them before a long ride on a hot day. They end up fitting like a glove.

Ordering any type of gear is risky. I managed to get most of my stuff online too, but I went around and tried on a bunch of gear and tried to find the stuff I would be buying online too. I ended up buying two pair of gloves, one pair thick leather, another pair made of mesh. I wear Large in the Icon mesh and the medim leathers fit quite nicely.

Just try different name brands and see what works. There must be something out there that will fit you. In fact, you could start calling around to local parts shops and asking what they recommend.

I think that no matter what brand you buy, there is some varying amount of size difference. I've had joe rocket gloves that were wide with shorter fingers, and now some that are narrow with longer fingers.

Try to go read up on the stuff from newenough.com - they usually have very good write ups on the different gloves.

My 2 cents...

A friend of mine just bought gloves from chilhowee (www.chilhowee.net). He called and talked to their sales girl 'cause he didn't trust their sizing chart -- not exactly the same issue you have but similar. Anyway, after talking to her for a few minutes, she puts him on hold for about 10 minutes (he thinks) and finally comes back on line -- she actually went to the back and got one of the guys with hands like his and had him try on gloves to see which one was the best fit! It wasn't the best match (a lot gets lost in translation), but you can't beat that for customer service, and he is extremely happy with the fit!

I have some gloves from Olympia that seem to be longer in the fingers than normal for the size of the glove. If you can get to a gear store, try on every brand/model they have until you find something that fits better. Remember that leather breaks in and will stretch a bit. I usually take snug new leather gloves, apply Nicwax waterproofing treatment, then wear the gloves around the house for a while, flexing hands and making fists. It looks goofy while you're doing it, but when your done the gloves conform really nicely to your hand.

Ride safe.

I went in today, for a new pair of riding gloves and got a pair of Icon Pursuit.
I was looking omn the internet and am now glad I bought at a local shop, as the sizing is out to lunch. I wear a medium or large depending on brand, in the pursuit I had to move up to XL.

The sales guy told me they fit small, but I would say it is close to 2 sizes diff.
So check sizes before ordering. Enen thouhgh the finger length is right the
pull the glove though the opening is snug.

I bought the preforated ones and they flow good air. I am considering getting another pair, not preforated.
